OUR SECURITY POLICY
The issue: Concern about security over the Internet is more often an issue of perception rather than an actual threat (as long as available security measures are properly implemented). It is far more dangerous to give your credit card number over the phone or to a cashier than it is to transmit it over the Internet. The real questions today pertain to whether adequate security measures are being taken by a particular site or vendor.
What are we protecting? We protect all of your personal information. This of course includes all highly sensitive information like your password and your credit card number.
Where can this information be found on the Internet? It can be found during the transmission of information between your browser and our server and on our server.
How do you secure the transmission of information from my browser to your server? We use SSL (Secured Socket Layer) which means that we encrypt information sent to the server with a key that makes it almost impossible to decrypt. To do this we use the industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 128 bit encryption technology. When in use you will see the padlock at the bottom of your browser. Secure web pages can also be identified by their URL: they begin with ‘https://’, while standard pages begin with ‘http://’. This is far more secure than giving you credit card over the phone where someone could be listening, or to a cashier where someone can either look over your shoulder or get hold of your credit card receipt.
